MAC Ltd extends its congratulations to Principal Engineer Andrew Head and the Jersey Premier Brass band on their third-place finish in the Second Section at the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain, held last month in York. Andrew is a keen amateur musician and has been a member of the band since 2023.
Jersey Premier Brass secured its place at the national finals earlier this year following a third-place podium finish out of 17 competing bands at the London and Southern Counties regional contest. Following months of rigorous preparation, the band travelled to York for the championship weekend to claim a third place finish out of 19 national finalists. As a result of their consistent performance over the past two years, the band has earned a promotion and will advance to compete in the First Section starting in 2027.
Attention now turns to the run-up to Christmas as Jersey Premier Brass begins rehearsals for its winter programme. A major highlight will be a live performance of the musical score to the classic animated film, The Snowman. For this special production, Andrew will swap his usual tenor horn to showcase his musical talents on the piano.
