Our Managing Director, Peter Gould, chose to use some of his Paid Volunteering Leave this year to take part in Mock Interviews for the Year 10 students at Upper Shirley High School in Southampton. This offers a great opportunity for the students to experience an interview environment and practice discussing their experience and skills with someone they haven’t met before. They also have the opportunity to prepare a CV and respond to a number of sample job advertisements.
“I really enjoy talking to the students and exploring their courses, project work, work experience, hobbies and plans for the future” explained Peter. “It enables them to demonstrate their communications skills, their problem-solving ability and their ability to work as part of a team, all things that would be of interest to a prospective employer.”
MAC Ltd is keen to support school, college and university students by participating in careers events in schools, providing summer internships and offering undergraduate sponsorships.
