The MON3100 card is a low-power, high performance, software configurable DSP platform, aimed at wireless baseband signal processing applications. It contains a state-of-the-art 14-bit analogue-to-digital converter, a 150k cell FPGA (Xilinx Spartan 6) and a Texas Instruments fixed/floating point DSP processor (TMS320C6746), together with useful peripherals such as a temperature sensor, 3-axis accelerometer and a u-blox GPS receiver, all packed into a 60 mm by 100 mm form factor. A variety of interfaces to external devices are provided, including Hi-Speed USB2 and LVDS signalling for fast data entry and egress, and RS232, SPI and I2C for control.
The MON3100 signal processing card is part of MAC Ltd’s MONITOR product family which currently includes a single channel, tri-band receiver card and the MON3600 multi-channel RF card. Other cards will be available in due course and custom designs can be accommodated.
Applications of the MON3100 card include configurable IF filtering, digital down-converters, RF measurement equipment, high speed data capture, signal interception and analysis, test transceivers.
