MON3100 - Compact Low-Power Wireless Baseband Processor
The MON3100 card is a low-power, high performance, software-configurable DSP platform, aimed at wireless baseband signal processing applications. It contains a state-of-the-art 14-bit analogue-to-digital converter, a 150k cell FPGA (Xilinx Spartan 6) and a Texas Instruments fixed/floating point DSP processor (TMS320C6746), together with useful peripherals such as a temperature sensor, 3-axis accelerometer and a u-blox GPS receiver, all packed into a 60 mm by 100 mm form factor. A variety of interfaces to external devices are provided, including Hi-Speed USB2 and LVDS signalling for fast data entry and egress, and RS232, SPI and I2C for control.
Applications of the MON3100 card include configurable IF filtering, digital down-converters, RF measurement equipment, high speed data capture, signal interception and analysis, test transceivers.

MON3500 – Tri-Band Down-Converter
The MON3500 card down-converts any cellular radio frequency band between 400 MHz and 2400 MHz to an intermediate frequency of 140 MHz. It may be configured at time of manufacture to support any three operating bands from the 40+ bands that are used around the world by cellular radio systems such as GSM, UMTS and LTE. For added flexibility an auxiliary input is provided for use with an external band filter so that a fourth operating band may be chosen when the card is installed.
Consuming only 1 W and with a board size of 60 mm x 60 mm, when combined with the MON3100 DSP card it creates an extremely compact and low power cellular band receiver.
Applications of the MON3500 card include survey receivers, custom test equipment and unattended monitoring systems.

MON3600 – Four-channel, Wideband, Phase-coherent Receiver
The MON3600 card is a four-channel, phase-coherent receiver combined with a single channel transmitter. In conjunction with the MON3100 baseband signal processing card it creates a complete software defined transceiver consuming less than 10 W and with a footprint of only 100 mm x 60 mm. The MON3600 contains two pairs of 20 MHz bandwidth phase-coherent receivers, which together cover the frequency range from 200 MHz to 2.5 GHz, and a single channel transmitter, with a modulation bandwidth of 10 MHz and frequency range 200 MHz to 2.2 GHz.
Applications of the MON3600 card include direction finding, RF measurement equipment, beamforming systems, MIMO reception, multi-channel wideband receivers and unattended monitoring systems.

MON4000 - Dual-channel, Multi-band Down-converter
The MON4000 card is the latest software defined radio platform in MAC Ltd’s MONITOR family. Primarily designed for off-air test applications in cellular radio bands the MON4000 boasts two channels of RF-to-bits conversion for up to six distinct bands in the frequency range 400 MHz to 4000 MHz. Each receiver uses an IF sampling architecture to guarantee excellent dynamic range as needed for use in a multi-channel environment. Local processing is performed by a Xilinx Zynq 7020 FPGA and two gigabit Ethernet channels carry baseband samples to the host. With external support the MON4000 can also be used in phase-coherent applications.
Applications of the MON4000 card include cellular band test receivers, direction finding, beamforming systems, MIMO reception, multi-channel wideband receivers and unattended monitoring systems.

CatchAll™-M1 – Software Defined Transceiver
The CatchAll-M1 is the latest software defined receiver from MAC Ltd offering a step change in performance, power consumption and size. Based on the Monitor family of DSP and radio frequency cards it provides two channels of phase coherent or independently tuned reception and adds a single channel transmitter. Covering a frequency range of 200 MHz to 2500 MHz with a 20 MHz instantaneous receive bandwidth, it consumes only 10 W and is packed into a 100 mm x 100 mm x 60 mm volume.
The CatchAll-M1 is supplied pre-configured with generic transceiver firmware that translates received signals to baseband and streams the samples to a host PC. Similarly, samples may be streamed from the host PC to the CatchAll-M1 for transmission.
Users with the appropriate in-house expertise can take advantage of the significant on-board processing capabilities to design their own FPGA and DSP applications. Alternatively, MAC Ltd would be happy to discuss the development of bespoke applications - just ask.
