Ultra-Fast Signal Measurement
The CatchAll receiver is a sophisticated tool that allows the accurate measurement and verification of coverage within radio networks. The CatchAll also provides valuable inputs into the network optimsation process that are not available with conventional network test equipment (eg, test mobiles).
The CatchAll is based around MAC Ltd's ASPE, and unlike conventional scanning receivers, it uses advanced signal processing techniques to capture an instantaneous 'snapshot' of the power received in all the radio channels across a wide frequency band. The CatchAll does not need to retune between individual measurement samples and, as a result, it can achieve effective channel samples rates well in excess of those achieved by conventional scanning receivers. This means that accurate received signal strength information can be captured for a large number of radio channels at normal road speeds, thereby slashing the costs associated with network drive testing compared with conventional scanning receivers.
The CatchAll incorporates an integrated GPS module to allow all measurements to be stamped with time and positional information and the product can also be upgraded to perform control channel decoding on selected channels, which enables features such as site identity decoding and SNR measurement.
