Planning for the future and evaluating the competition
One of MAC Ltd's key roles is to help its customers to decide how best to grow and evolve their radio access networks, whether in terms of increasing the capacity of their current network(s) or selecting and planning for the introduction of a new technology. MAC Ltd can evaluate the gains that could be realised by improving the existing radio access technology, and/or evaluate the potential benefits offered by other enhancements such as repeater products, smart antennas and MIMO. MAC Ltd also helps customers understand how new or competing technology or equipment compares to the customer's current infrastructure.
Infrastructure and terminal development services
MAC Ltd has considerable expertise in the specification, development, integration and testing of DSP and FPGA code for the baseband processing sections of mobile test equipment, terminal chipsets and base station hardware. MAC Ltd can handle all aspects of the development lifecycle, from requirements specification and design through to automated test system development and type approval.
Provision of custom hardware and software solutions
We develop and market our own software radio planning tools as well as the successful CatchAll receiver product and associated data analysis software. An equally important area of our business for us and our customers is the development of custom software products and tools. These include link budget calculators and other engineering tools, cell site configuration databases, network dimensioning tools, interference analysis and reporting tools, and a variety of simulation models and modules that our customers use to analyse a wide range of radio access technologies and infrastructure elements.

MAC Ltd’s skilled team of engineers has provided network planning and consulting services to operators of cellular networks in major cities throughout the world. MAC Ltd provides specialist assistance and guidance for vendor selection; network design, planning and optimisation; network expansion, network evolution and new technology evaluation; spectrum valuations and auctions.
